MOUNTAIN PINE MUSIC DEPARTMENT

CODE OF CONDUCT

CODE 1: ALL STUDENTS WILL BE IN THEIR ASSIGNED SEAT WITH THEIR MATERIALS FOR CLASS WHEN THE TARDY BELL RINGS. THIS INCLUDES YOUR INSTRUMENT, MUSIC, REEDS, PENCIL, FOLDER, AND ANYTHING ELSE NEEDED TO PARTICIPATE.

 

CODE 2: NO PHONES, EARPHONES, OR ANY TYPE OF ELECTRONIC DEVICE WILL BE ALLOWED IN CLASS, OTHER THAN AN INSTRUMENT TUNER ON YOUR MUSIC STAND. OTHER DEVICES WILL BE COLLECTED IF THEY ARE OUT DURING REHEARSAL.

 

CODE 3: NO FOOD, DRINKS, OR SNACKS OTHER THAN WATER WILL BE ALLOWED INTO THE MUSIC BUILDING AT ANYTIME, INCLUDING DURING LUNCH OR BEFORE/AFTER SCHOOL.

 

CODE 4: THERE WILL BE ZERO NOTES WRITTEN TO EXCUSE YOU FROM A CORE ACADEMIC CLASS TO COME TO THE MUSIC BUILDING FOR ANY REASON NOT APPROVED BY MR. JOHNS.

 

CODE 5: NO ONE SHOULD BE IN THE MUSIC BUILDING THAT IS NOT A MEMBER OF THE MUSIC DEPARTMENT WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM MR. JOHNS. THIS IS OUR FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE.

 

CODE 6: NO ONE WILL BE IN THE MUSIC BUILDING WITHOUT ADULT SUPERVISION FOR ANY REASON. INCLUDING BEFORE, AFTER, AND DURING SCHOOL. IF NO ONE IS IN THE BUILDING, PLEASE LEAVE!

 

CODE 7: THERE WILL BE NO TALKING DURING REHEARSAL. ANYONE INTERUPTING CLASS WILL BE GIVEN EXTRA ASSIGNMENTS DUE BY 1st PERIOD THE NEXT DAY AT RISK OF A WRITE-UP.

 

CODE 8: NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED TO COME TO THE MUSIC BUILDING AT ANYTIME UNLESS THEY ARE ASKED TO HELP OR THEY PLAN TO PRACTICE THEIR INSTRUMENT OF VOCAL PART.

 

CODE 9: BATHROOMS SHOULD BE USED BEFORE REHEARSAL BEGINS. STUDENTS WILL BE ALLOWED 2 PASSES (PER SEMESTER) TO USE THE BATHROOM DURING REHEARSAL ONLY IN CASES OF EMERGENCY. NO MORE WILL BE GIVEN SO DO NOT ABUSE THEM.

 

CODE 10: ALL PERFORMANCES AND ASSIGNED AFTER-SCHOOL REHERSALS ARE REQUIRED. YOUR GRADE WILL BE AFFECTED FOR ANY ABSENCE NOT EXCUSED BY THE SYLLABUS.

 

CODE 11: STUDENTS MUST FOLLOW ANY OTHER RULE SET BY THE SCHOOL OR THE MUSIC DEPARTMENT. REGARDLESS IF IT IS INCLUDED IN THIS CODE OF CONDUCT. RESPECT OUR PROGRAM!
