I graduated in 1989 from Lockesburg High School. In 2004, I received a BSE in middle school education from Henderson State University. I completed a Masters in Education in 2020 at SAU. I am currently working on my National Board certification in Library/Media Specialist.
I am certified in middle school education (Math, Science, English, Social Studies), 7-12 Family and Consumer Sciences, K-12 Library, Media Information Specialist and I also have an endorsement in Career Development.
I have been teaching for 17 years. I am in my 4th year at Mountain Pine High School. I am currently working as the High School Libraian/Media Specialist.
I started my teaching career in 2004 at Cove School District, the moved to South Pike County School District, which is where I spent the biggest portion of my teaching career. Most of my teaching experience is in the middle school English and Science content areas. However, I have spent some time teaching History, FSC and Career Development. In 2021, I transistioned into the high school library and I am loving it!
I am married to Jeff Alexander and we have 9 children and 23 grandchildren. All of our children are grown and out of the house. Our school age grandchildren attend school at Centerpoint, Lake Hamilton and private schools in Oklahoma.
We have three pets, Priscilla Ann, a dachshund, and Dolly and Daisy, which are basset hounds.
When I am not teaching, I love being outdoors. Whether it be camping, spending time on the lake, hunting, fishing or watching grand kids at their sporting events. If I am not outdoors, you can find me reading just about anything or whatching some history based tv series.
